Marin
This maiden from Mabe Village saved Link's life when she found him washed up on the beach. Marin bears an uncanny resemblance to Princess Zelda. She is a very musical woman who loves singing and yearns for life off the island. She has many friends among humans, animals and even some among monsters.
Tarin
Tarin is Marin's father. He bumbles a bit but is kind-hearted. He loves mushrooms and often goes to the forest in search of some for his dinner.
Owl
This mysterious owl follows Link throughout his adventure in Koholint. He seems to know much of the island and the world in general, including the Wind Fish. But is he friend or foe?
Grandpa Ularia
This old man is a walking encyclopaedia of Koholint Island. He knows everything about the island! However, he is not very talkative and it can be difficult to get information out of him. His wife is a loud, old woman who loves sweeping the front of her house.
Mr. Write
He loves reading and writing letters. People say he is writing to a charming young woman in a city far away.
Crazy Tracy
This moderately odd woman lives to the northeast of Mabe Village. They say she can create a variety of secret medicines. Link should visit her house at least once on his adventure.
Princess Zelda
The King's daughter, Hyrule's princess. The Royal Princess of Hyrule is a symbol of the people's hope. Her vivid dreams allow her to predict when something evil is about to happen in the world. She is counting on Link to save Hyrule.
Ganondorf
This sinister man comes from the desert in the western part of Hyrule. Ganondorf desires the Triforce.
Talon, Malon, Ingo
These three all work on Lon Lon Ranch, the only ranch in Hyrule.
Goron People
These people live in Death Mountain, an active volcano in the northern part of Hyrule. Their source of food is the minerals they dig out of the volcano.
Darunia
Head of the Goron people, Darunia is well known and well liked.
Zora People
The people of Zora's Domain are like evolved fish. They live underwater but can venture out for short periods of time.
Princess Ruto
Zora's princess, Ruto is very much a tomboy.
King Zora
King of the Zora and Princess Ruto's father.
Kokiri People
These childlike people live in Kokiri Forest. Each Kokiri has a guardian fairy. They cannot leave the forest of their lives will come to an end.
Link
Also known as The Hero of Time, all creatures big and small owe their lives to this legendary adventurer. Link's list of accomplishments sprawls longer than we could even begin to list here, but he is most well known for his vital role in keeping Ganon, The King of Evil, safely locked away in the Dark World.
Saria
Saria is Link's lifelong friend.
Skull Kid
Wearing a mystical mask, he appeared suddenly before Link. Hidden within that mask was tremendous power- a power that not even he understood.
Tatl
A slightly overbearing fairy, Tatl is always thinking of her younger brother. She will be the companion that Link will often find himself relying on in this adventure.
Epona
The Skull Kid takes this young horse that has journeyed with Link throughout his adventure from him. Will Link and Epona ever meet again?

The Deku Tribe
The Deku live primarily in a palace surrounded by the waters that flow from Woodfall. Their King is terribly stubborn and will not permit people of other tribes to enter his palace.
The Goron Tribe
The Gorons live in the small shrine east of Snowhead and its steep mountainous peaks. Though used to harsh weather, the Gorons are in the grips of an unusually fierce cold snap.
The Zora Tribe
Since this tribe lives in the water, they are particularly sensitive to environmental changes. The songs of the Zora band, the Indigo-gos, are popular with people of all races.

Nayru
As the Oracle of Ages, Nayru wields power over the currents of time in Labrynna. She is a wise and serene young woman who spends her days singing songs and wishing for peace. Little does she know the Sorceress of Shadows covets her power.
Ralph
Ralph is Nayru's hot-tempered childhood friend. His hastiness and lack of focus can sometimes lead to trouble. Having seen his dear Nayru taken from before his very eyes, Ralph is determined to rescue her.
Veran
Veran, who has disrupted the flow of time in Labrynna, is the Sorceress of Shadows, and is able to possess the bodies of others and force them to do her bidding. Her plan is to control time from the past to fulfill her hidden desires.
Ambi
Ambi is a Labrynnian queen from the distant past. She's been building Ambi's Tower, but recently the villagers have begun to call it the Black Tower. Something has changed the queen's once kind nature, but just what remains a mystery...
Maku Tree (Labrynna)
The giant tree is Labrynna's guardian. Link is able to earn her favor by helping her in the distant past- when she was but a young sprout.
Impa
As royal nurse, Impa has cared for Hyrule's Princess Zelda since her birth.
Maple
Maple is an apprentice witch to her grandmother. She often sneaks away from her training and flies around on the magic broom she recently learned to ride. Occasionally, she unexpectedly flies down and crashes into Link.
Vasu
The only jeweler in the world of Labrynna and Holodrum, he appraises the secret powers of rings made from magical seeds. Vasu also has two pet snakes.
Bipin and Blossom
Bipin is a famed tree planter who grows Gasha Seeds, and freely offers information about them to curious travelers. Blossom is his wife. Together they have a young child who is full of promise. What kind of man will this child grow up to be?
Great Moblin
The Great Moblin lives in his proud keep and tries to swindle a toll from all that pass by. The Great Moblin has begun to harass the Gorons with the hope of getting a monopoly on their prized bomb flowers.
Din
Disguised as a dancer the strong-willed Oracle of Seasons quietly assures peace in Holodrum, but an hour of evil draws near...
Onox
The General of Darkness is behind the chaos caused by the disruption of Holodrum's Seasons. Onox has great power and uses his mighty flail to crush all that oppose him. He has cast a barrier of shadow around his castle and plans to gather the powers of destruction from the dying lands of Holodrum.
The Maku Tree (Holodrum)
This gigantic tree is the guardian spirit of all Holodrum, and it now awaits a visit from a brave young man. It is said one can meet the Maku Tree only after showing great courage.
Subrosians
Subrosians are the strange dwellers of a hidden world Link visits during his quest. They are a mysterious people who always wrap themselves in robes. Many surprises await Link in Subrosia.
Gorons of Holodrum
They used to live in peace on Goron Mountain, but because of the disorder in the seasons, their peaceful lives are threatened. The Gorons all took shelter in a cave to escape the bitter cold and now wait for spring's return- patiently.
